The West Bengal government has announced the dates for the much-awaited Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS) 2023. The event will take place from November 21 to November 23, and is expected to attract investors from across the globe. To promote the event and attract investors, the government has planned road shows in 4-5 other states.
To provide ease of business in the state, the government has also implemented a policy for the industry. The policy will ensure that businesses do not have to visit the government repeatedly for approvals and permits, making it easier for them to set up and operate in the state.
In addition to this, the government has also passed a proposal in the cabinet for government land to be freehold from leasehold. This move will provide more flexibility for businesses to acquire land and set up their operations in the state.
To further boost industrial development, the government has planned to construct three industrial corridors in the first phase. These corridors will be built from Dankuni to Haldia, Haldia to Kalyani, and Kalyani to Raghunathpur. The construction of a separate corridor in North Bengal is also in the pipeline.
The government has already acquired 8000 acres of land for the industrial corridors, which is expected to attract significant investment in the state. The corridors will provide easy access to ports and other infrastructure, making it easier for businesses to transport their goods and services.
The announcement of the dates for BGBS 2023 and the implementation of measures to improve the ease of doing business in the state are expected to boost investor confidence in West Bengal. With the government's focus on infrastructure development and industrial growth, the state is poised to become a hub for businesses looking to expand in India.
